Regular Monthly Meeting

 

1. Call to Order

2. Minutes

Time was provided for those present to review the June 2024 minutes. Paul made a motion to accept the minutes, Julie seconded. All voted in favor.

3. Director's Report

Time was provided for those present to review the report. Highlights discussed:

Garverick Surveying submitted their invoice for survey of the lot purchased in 2022 and has not yet sent survey of the property butting up to 314 that the library currently maintains. Jen has called contractors to check basement stairs and to repair the cement for the accessible ramp, but no one has shown up to date. Brian Scott has been keeping the lot mowed. Donated plants for garden are doing well. Summer reading attendance has been up and the programs have been receiving positive comments from our patrons. Kudos to all the staff doing the hard work of summer reading! Food distribution continues on Mondays through August 5.

4. Fiscal Officer's Report

4.1 Monthly Reconciliations

Time was provided for those present to review the report and the tax budget due on July 15. The fiscal officer said the budget accounts for increases in salaries, OPERS & Medicare and allocated 5% increases across the board for all cost categories to account for increased expenses. 

General questions asked about bills and answered by Nicole.

Travis motioned to accept and pay bills. Michelle seconded. All voted in favor.

5. Old Business

5.1 Property Updates

Jen has ordered some seating for lot. Ohio Arts Council has awarded the library a grant to hire a local artist for a mural for the garden. The grant monies will pay for one percussion instrument for the garden and for musical artists for two concerts in the garden next spring.

7. Consent Resolutions

7.1 Small Donations Taken at the Register June $19.40.

Julie motioned to accept and pay bills. Michelle seconded. All voted in favor.
