Our Early Literacy Program series consists of three programs, one a steppingstone to the next.
These programs are school-year length, beginning in September and concluding in May of the following year. Children between the ages of two and five years are eligible.
Each program utilizes a combination of stories, crafts, activities, and games to introduce and reinforce concepts related to letters, numbers, colors, and shapes. We also work on developing fine motor skills through practicing cutting and writing skills. Children can learn to work cooperatively with one another, and develop a sense of independence from their parent/guardian during the program period.
Our Early Literacy series consists of three programs:
- Tinker Tots: For toddlers ages 2-3 years, with adult participation.
- Little Learners: For children ages 3-4 years.
- A2Z: For children ages 4-5 years, who will be kindergarten eligible in September, 2027.
These programs require registration, and once the program begins you will attend the same day each week throughout the program period.
Registration for our September, 2026 Early Literacy programs opens to the general public on May 1, 2026.
To register, you must return a completed registration form to the library. We are not taking registrations by phone or online. Forms can be downloaded and printed from our Facebook page, printed from this webpage, or picked up/filled out/dropped off at the library.
Seats are limited for each program and session, so it is best to register early.
Please stop in or call the library with any questions about the programs and we can assist you in selecting the appropriate program for your child.
