Regular Monthly Meeting

1. Call to Order

Mary R called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.

2. Minutes

Time was provided for those present to review the May 2024 minutes. Paul made a motion to accept the minutes, Michelle seconded. All voted in favor.

3. Director's Report

Time was provided for those present to review the report. Highlights discussed:

Summer Reading registration has 101 participants as of June 11th.

Free meal pickup at the library has started. The program is popular and ran out of food before scheduled time was over for the first week. Meal pickup is once a week. There is a form to fill out for a non-parent to pickup for a child but otherwise meal pickup is open without questions for anyone under 18. Jen will order additional meals based on the first week's response.

Jen attended an SEO directors' meeting. It was indicated that participating libraries should look to budget 3% more for SWRS delivery fees. Library staff will no longer have access to PINs for online accounts per SEO policy change but can help patrons reset them.

Jen attended a meeting where House Bill 622 was discussed. This bill is about public libraries. If passed, libraries will need to adopt a policy that prohibits its libraries from displaying matter harmful to juveniles.

Recreational marijuana will be legal soon, but employers can still prohibit possession and under the influence at work. The board may need additional policy development for this.

4.1 Monthly Reconciliations

Time was provided for those present to review the report.

General questions asked about bills and answered by Nicole.

Julie motioned to accept and pay bills. Travis seconded. All voted in favor.

5. Old Business

5.1 Property Updates

Mary J made a motion to discuss property in executive session. Julie seconded this motion. All voted yes to go into executive session starting at 7:31 pm.

Motion made by Julie to come out of executive session at 8:01, and Mary J seconded. All voted yes to come out of executive session.

7. Consent Resolutions

7.1 Small Donations Taken at the Register May $46.35.

Julie motioned to accept and pay bills. Michelle seconded. All voted in favor.
