National Spumoni Day

Monday, August 21st is National Spumoni Day.

What is Spumoni, you ask? It's a delicious, frozen treat that hails from Southern Italy. Traditionally, it is three molded layers of flavored gelato, together in one treat. Usually candied fruits and nuts in two layers and one layer of chocolate. In the U.S., most spumoni includes a fruit layer, a layer of pistachio, and a layer of chocolate. In any combination it sounds delicious!

Stop by the library on Monday, check out a book and grab a scoop of "spumoni" (some combination of three layers of deliciousness) to celebrate the day.

Spumoni available while the supply lasts.
